Byron McNeil founded Gulf Coast Velocity Data in 1986 and spent decades building one of the industry's most trusted collections of check-shot velocity surveys and well data. Geoscientists across the Gulf Coast, the Mid-Continent and the Rockies relied on his data, and on his care for getting it right.
Today the company is owned by the McNeil Family, who are carrying his work forward. The collection he built is being restored, quality-checked and made available again as the GCVD Data Warehouse.

Our business plan is the same two-fold one Byron set out: provide high-quality data, and keep costs low for our clients. We have provided velocity data and services to more than 100 oil and gas exploration companies.
Every dataset has been through a rigorous review and quality check, and every well is now searchable, by API, operator, county or on the map, and downloadable as soon as your order is placed.
